Editor in Chief
Rallying royalty doesn’t come more regal than Audi’s short wheelbase quattro and Subaru’s 22B, two homologation road cars born on the toughest stages of the World Rally Championship. And now Toyota wants in on the homologation kudos with its spectacular Yaris GR-Four, therefore in the February issue of evo Japan’s latest in a long line of rally specials for the road lines up against the icon from Inglostadt and STI’s ultimate Subaru, with Richard Meaden behind the wheel of all three telling the story.
In the next issue of evo Adam Towler has also driven Cyan Racing’s 21st Century interpretation of Volvo’s classic P1800 coupe, complete with a carbon-fibre body and a 414bhp touring car spec engine. Jethro Bovingdon, meanwhile, enjoys two very old school approaches to modern day driver’s cars in the Nismo GT-R and Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and asks just how badly are going to miss these legends.
